Calling all ocean lovers: Oceana is looking for an organized and enthusiastic Communications Intern to join our Global Marketing and Communications team.

The Communications Intern is responsible for tracking and circulating Oceana’s press coverage in the United States and internationally, conducting media research, building media lists, and drafting and editing communications materials. The intern ultimately helps Oceana’s communications team achieve its goals of increasing public awareness of Oceana and raising the organization’s profile among key audiences.

This position requires a strong communicator who is detail- and team-oriented, organized, interested in conservation issues, and familiar with news organizations. Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires strong multi-tasking skills and a customer service attitude.

Strong candidates for this position will be recent graduates with a bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field. The Communications Intern reports to Oceana’s International Communications Manager.

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) based in Washington, DC.
